I publish frequent Astrological Weather Reports here in EA Zoom, on Facebook, and my website, evolutionaryastrologer.net

I appreciate and encourage your feedback. Feel free to email me directly at daniel@evolutionaryastrologer.net.

On April 20th, 2023, at 12:30 am EDT, the first of two eclipses, a hybrid eclipse, will occur at 29° Aries 50’. This eclipse is part of Saros cycle 129 and will be visible in Asia, Australia, and the Philippines. I will record the forecast for the lunar eclipse in a few days.

The last eclipse in this series occurred in April 2005.

That month the first YouTube video was uploaded.

That year:

  • North Korea announced they had nuclear weapons.
  • Prince Charles married Camilla Parker Bowles.
  • Hurricane Katrina devastated the US Gulf Coast.
  • Angela Merkel became the first female chancellor of Germany.

As this total eclipse occurs,

  • US Special Forces are “boots on the ground” in Ukraine.
  • Donald Trump has been indicted in New York on 34 felony counts connected to his role in paying hush money to a porn star.
  • A federal investigation, now in the hands of a special counsel, is investigating his efforts to reverse his defeat at the polls in 2020 and his role in the events that led to the storming of the Capitol by his supporters on Jan. 6, 2021.
  • The special counsel is also looking at his handling of classified materials found at his home in Florida.
  • A Georgia prosecutor is in the final stages of an investigation into Donald Trump’s attempts to reverse the election results in that state.
  • China has been practicing the invasion of Taiwan, beginning with practicing cutting undersea internet cables in advance of an assault on the island.
  • Another US Supreme Court Justice has been exposed to questionable ethics.
  • And gun violence in the United States continues to escalate.

Significantly, this eclipse occurs at the final degree of Aries. This anaretic degree greatly intensifies the event and necessitates the resolution of any issue still “hanging fire” relative to the Aries archetype.

Aries is the cardinal expression of the Fire element. It is Yang, energy moving outward from the center. It is active, positive, bright, hard, male, dry, daytime, upward seeking, and restless. Aries represents the original anxiety of separation from the womb. The sign on the Ascendant, the house that Aries rules, and the house and sign that Mars is in all correlate to the phenomenon of becoming.

Aries is the initiatory phase of the self-actualization process. It correlates to birth, the instinctive, non-cognitive beginning of life. Ruled by the planet Mars, Aries is associated with anger, rage, and war. It can express as violence, impatience, and narcissism. It correlates to desires, sexual instinct, the need for freedom and independence, and personal initiative. It manifests as the pioneer, warrior, explorer, and destroyer.

—paraphrased from the Jeffrey Wolf Green School of Evolutionary Astrology

At this powerful new Moon, Jupiter, Eris, Chiron, and asteroid Astraea, join the Sun and Moon in Aries. Jupiter is conjunct Eris, the Greek goddess of Strife and Discord, a volatile combination. Jupiter is the planet of expansion and enlarges whatever it touches. Some astrologers like to frame Jupiter as beneficent, making things better. Jupiter makes everything bigger, not necessarily better.

Eris is held culpable for the onset of the Trojan War. A number of Greek playwrights and authors hold Helen of Troy responsible as “the face that launch’d a thousand ships, and burnt the topless towers of Ilium.” The eventual outcome of that tragic event was the founding of the Roman Empire when Aeneas, a Trojan royal, sailed to Italia and married into the royal lineage. His future generation founded the city of Rome and the culture it produced, which is still vibrant today after more than 2000 years.

Astraea was the virgin goddess of innocence and purity. During the Golden Age, she dwelt upon the earth with mankind but was driven away by the increasing lawlessness of the subsequent Bronze Age. Zeus then set her amongst the stars as the constellation Virgo. Astraea was closely identified with the goddesses Dike (Justice) and Nemesis (Rightful Indignation).

Chiron, known as the “wounded healer,” was the mentor to all Greek Classical Age heroes. Wounds that activate homeopathic healing modalities can be inflicted for festering individual and collective illnesses.

At the lunation, the luminaries are conjunct asteroid Vesta and the Lunar North Node in the early degrees of Taurus. Vesta correlates to our authenticity and sacred commitment to self.

Eclipses are breakdowns or breakthrough events. Significant people enter and leave the planet when the celestial portals are open during the four-week eclipse period.

At the eclipse, the Sun and Moon make a tight out-of-sign first quarter “crisis in action” square to Pluto at the zero degree point of Aquarius. The zero degree of any sign is the astrological point that is a saturated archetypal concentration, not yet diluted by interaction with the following sign. This contrasts the anaretic degree, which has nearly completed progressing through the archetype and is at the final transition point.

Pluto at 0° Aquarius squares the lunar nodes in Taurus and Scorpio. Pluto rules the Lunar South Node. In Evolutionary Astrology, a planet squaring the nodes is called a “skipped step.” Something essential for evolutionary development has been bypassed and must now be addressed and resolved. The archetype of Aquarius is about objectivity and mental clarity. Pluto is about the handling of power. Power has been misused. It has been given away or taken away. By the Scorpio full moon lunar eclipse, Pluto’s opposition to strategist Pallas Athene will reveal, through dramatic, emotionally charged events, where we need to get at arm’s length with the current status of our world and recognize where the work needs to be done to heal the energetic imbalances in the world around us.

The ruler of this eclipse, Mars, is in Cancer, the repository of our self-image. Ruled by the Moon, Cancer correlates to the emotional body. Mars correlates to the choices we make. The Lunar North Node is an array of probable futures. What we choose in the present, influenced by our innate emotional nature, determines which future will manifest.

The concentration of celestial energies in Aries and Taurus can feel overwhelming. Our instinctual “stuff” is being exhumed and percolates to the surface; self-interest, self-importance, self-reliance. Mercury conjunct Uranus in Taurus, underscored by ruled by Venus in Gemini, can overwhelm cognitive awareness causing cognitive dissonance. Survival feels threatened. Jupiter stresses Neptune. Opinion masquerades as fact and becomes a belief.

All of these celestial conditions, the anaretic degree of the lunation, the archetype of Aries and Mars, the underlying emotional nature of the Moon and Cancer, Pluto squaring the Lunar Nodes, Jupiter and Eris, and the correlating influences of the conjoined asteroids suggest a deep transformational emotional event with long-term influence on the future.

Volatility runs high over the next few weeks. World events totter on the edge of a precipice. In our own lives, we fear the dice are loaded and come up “snake eyes.”

The Hopis tell us climate change, war, and pestilence are happening because man is out of balance with nature. Our world is increasingly being surrounded by lawlessness, Dystopia, the moon that circles Eris and one of her children. This correlates directly with the mythology of the Roman goddess Astraea who was driven away by the increasing lawlessness.

The Fourth World is ending, but this time the Fifth World is emerging simultaneously. We will not have to go underground as we did 12,000 years ago. We are the ones we have been waiting for. Get back in your body and remember to breathe. We are stardust, children of the stars, and all of the cosmos is within us. Make it a necessity to spend time where there are no city lights. Gaze up at the wonder of what surrounds us. We are not flesh and blood. We are Light.

Pluto In Aquarius

Rupture & Rapture

Welcome to this edition of the Astrological Weather Report.

Pluto in Aquarius: Rupture & Rapture

My name is Daniel Fiverson. I regularly record Astrological Weather Reports here on EA Zoom and post the transcripts on my website: evolutionaryastrologer.net. You can reach me at: daniel@evolutionaryastrologer.net

I encourage your feedback. My forecasts correlate the current astrological frequencies with the current state of affairs of our world, the United States in particular, and my work has nothing to do with politics. My astrology examines the historic times we are passing through, the current extremes of expression in the zeitgeist, and our collective sociological climate.

Recent history has presented with:

  • The President of the United States is facing impending indictments for tax fraud, money laundering, and, potentially, treason and sedition.
  • China has now joined Russia in the war against the people of Ukraine.
  • Dramatic climate change and its devastating disruption to our normalcy.
  • Notably, the drying up of the Colorado River, which supplies essential, life-sustaining water to the Western states, has created a water crisis for water in our lifetime.
  • Extreme gun violence, and worst of all, kids with guns.
  • News media presents opinions and personal beliefs as facts.
  • Devastating storms and weather patterns.
  • Famine and civil war throughout Africa.
  • Worldwide poverty.

There have also been important scientific breakthroughs and accomplishments:

  • The James Web Space Telescope which is 100 times more powerful than Hubble has revealed never seen before images of deep space.
  • New milestone in nuclear fusion technology
  • Advancements in Cancer Treatment
  • The first complete sequence of the human genome
  • Hydrogen-powered trains.
  • Scalar technology that can harness life force energy.

In this edition, we will time travel ahead 20 years and examine the transit of Pluto through the sign of Aquarius.

Pluto

Just the word Pluto strikes fear into the hearts of men, and for good reason. Pluto’s world is the underworld, the mythical abode of the dead. As human beings, above all else, most of us fear death ~ thanatophobia, “death anxiety.”

If I told you that we don’t die, I would get many different responses. It’s just like when people ask me what I do, and I tell them that I am an astrologer, sometimes their response emulates a rabbit caught in the headlights. You don’t have to accept the idea or deny this idea. If it is true, neither of those responses will alter the fact. So far, everyone I have read for over the last 15 years has told me they believe in reincarnation.

The concept of reincarnation and “life after death” is fundamental to many ancient cultures and indigenous spiritual beliefs. According to the Law of Energy Conservation, energy cannot be created or destroyed but is transformed from one state into another. We are not physical beings. We are energetic beings. We are not the cells and tissues of our bodies. We are the energy that flows through the cells and organs of our bodies. That energy is what we call consciousness. Death occurs when consciousness leaves the body, not one minute before or one minute after.

Astrologically the planet Pluto holds an energetic frequency that corresponds to what has come before; what we have brought with us from the past; the lessons, challenges, and gifts that we continue to work on this lifetime. These emotional patterns are held in the subconscious and reawakened in early childhood. Mythologically, Pluto wore a helmet of invisibility when he was above ground so that he could not be seen. The subconscious as well is subliminal and invisible.

Pluto is a god who feels neglected and unloved. Zeus, Neptune, and Hades were brothers. When the world was divided between them, his brothers were gifted with the lion’s share. Zeus claimed rulership of the earth and sky. Neptune took ownership of the great waters of the world. Both brothers had temples erected to them and supplicants and nubile nymphs by the score. Pluto, on the other hand, was sequestered beneath the dark recesses of the earth where no one could reach him without mortal wounding. He was lonely and envious of his brothers. So it is not unusual that he abducted Persephone as his Queen. He, too, wanted a maiden to share his world.

So this is to say that Pluto has feelings, longings, and a soul.  In fact, Pluto in a birth chart correlates directly to the Soul and the deepest security desires of the Soul. It is the correlation of the wave to the ocean. The ocean corresponds to the Source-of-All-That-Is. From the depths of the ocean, the wave emerges. In that of emergence, the illusion of separation is created. The ocean is forgotten, and only the experience of being the wave remains.

When we first come into human form, we, too, are under that illusion of being separate from All-That-Is. Pluto is the evolutionary engine that, over many lifetimes, teaches us that we are not just the wave but also the ocean. The wave that instinctively separates from the ocean is the Soul’s process of learning about itself. The Soul’s core desire is security.

  • Pluto correlates to our deepest desires for security.
  • Pluto is the engine that drives evolution forward.
  • Pluto correlates to our karma and DNA — necessities for the self-actualization process.
  • Karma is simply the choices we make. We reap what we sow. Cause and effect. It is neither punishment nor retribution, simply the “unfinished business” carried over into this lifetime.
  • Pluto carries that signature of that “unfinished business.”

Pluto is the higher octave of Mars and vice-versa. Before Pluto’s discovery in 1930, foreshadowing the discovery of atomic energy, Mars was the ruler of Scorpio. Pluto prescribes the deepest security needs of the Soul and hands them off to Mars. Mars makes conscious choices according to those “marching orders.” Pluto says, “Jump!” Mars says, “How high?

One of the core correlations of the Pluto/Scorpio/8th house archetype is metamorphosis beyond our pre-existing limitations. There is a need to psychologically penetrate the root causes of the limitations that affect growth; metamorphosis. Pluto, planets in Scorpio or in the 8th House, “go deep or go home.” There is a deep psychological intention to probe to the core of everything. People with dominant Scorpio planets often become psychologists, psychiatrists, surgeons, investigative reporters, and researchers.

A fundamental teaching that is imparted through Evolutionary Astrology is that the Soul (Pluto) contains two co-equal yet antithetical desires within it: One to return to Source and one to separate from Source. It is the interaction of these two desires within the Soul that determines what we think we need and the actions that we then put into motion.

In other words, desire is the determinant of evolution. The Pluto archetype also correlates with the awareness of higher sources of power. It is the desire to merge with a higher source of power as well.

Evolution occurs as the Soul begins to merge back with the Universal Creator and progressively exhausts/purges all separating desires.”

— Jeffrey Wolf Green

Aquarius

The symbol for the constellation Aquarius is the water bearer; however, Aquarius is not associated with water. It is the fixed archetype of the Air element. Aquarius can act like water because the dynamics of Aquarius wash away the past, making room for a new start.

Aquarius correlates to liberation from parental and societal conditioning. It is rebellion against the rules, regulations, ethics, mores, and standards of society. It is revolution. Aquarius deconstructs the consensus reality generated in Capricorn, the previous sign in the natural zodiac. As the polarity to self-actualizing Leo, the innate expression of who we are, Aquarius correlates to the process of whom we are becoming.

Aquarius correlates to pushing back against what is conceived to be the accepted norm. It manifests as alienation and rebellion. It is the anarchist. As a result, self-organizing groups coalesce around common beliefs and ideologies.

In the sign of Aquarius, we develop our individuality. Aquarius correlates to what Carl Jung called the process of individuation. Yes, we are like everyone else in most ways. We have two arms and two legs, ten fingers, and ten toes. But we also have assets that are uniquely our own, perhaps musical talent, artistic creativity, being a wordsmith, and so on. These are talents we have brought with us into this lifetime, developed over many lifetimes of discovery, development of certain skills, and mastery.

Trauma is an Aquarian archetype. Ruled by erratic Uranus, Aquarian energy interrupts and disrupts the normal pattern of behavior and societal structure to open the space for something new to emerge. It tears something down so that something else can arise in its place.

Uranus rules electricity, all forms of electronics, and technology in general. Uranus correlates to the higher mind in contrast to Mercury and the rational lower mind. Thoughts and ideas come out of left field, seemingly impossible to manifest or develop. However, these seed thoughts are the embryos of a new social structure.

Pluto Ingress Aquarius

On March 23, 2023, Pluto will enter the sign of Aquarius. This is the chart for the ingress.

The outstanding aspect of this chart is the square from Pluto to the lunar nodes. In Evolutionary Astrology, this is known as a “skipped step.” It means some vital process, development, or achievement has been “skipped over” for whatever reason.

The resolution node is the lunar node that was transited last. Pluto is the ruler of the lunar south node. This is a strong indication of unresolved karma.

Asteroid Hygeia is separating from a new phase conjunction to Pluto. Hygeia is about proactive health and concerns the mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies, not just the physical body.

The Sun in Aries is separating from a crescent sextile to Pluto. The crescent phase concerns the struggle of how things are actualizing. The Arian instinctive process of trial and error has revealed alternative paths forward, and now a choice must be made for which direction to choose.

The Moon, Mercury, Jupiter, and Eris, as well as Chiron, and asteroids Astraea and Vesta, occupy all three decans of Aries. As Joan Didion wrote, something “Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born.”

The Moon applies to a 1st Quarter, “crisis in action” square to Pluto, implying stressful emotional content that will generate change. Venus in Taurus separates from the same crisis-laden square to Pluto, implying that new values and priorities must be realized and actualized.

Mars at 29° Gemini, the anaretic degree of any sign, forms a gibbous inconjunct to Pluto. New choices must be made based on these new priorities. A new direction is imminent and charged with destiny.

Dwarf planet Ceres retrograde in Virgo separates from a partile (exact) trine to Pluto. Opportunities to rebalance and achieve new social, political, and economic equilibrium will be furthered by inevitable growth through crisis and the resulting self-analysis creating new self-awareness.

Pluto Generations

Pluto was only discovered in 1930 as Percival Lowell searched for Planet X. It takes 248 Earth years for Pluto to complete its orbit around the Sun and between 12 to 31 years to complete its transit through a zodiac sign. The average 20-year transit through each sign corresponds to an entire generation of individuals coming onto the planet.

Instead of text and image descriptions of the previous generations, I have chosen musical selections from those times that reflect the frequency of the time.

Pluto in Cancer (1914-1938)

For the most part…Women were Betty Crocker. Men were Marlboro men. Transformations from world war to the underworld life of the twenties through the depression and to a second world war.

Pluto in Leo “Baby Boomers” (1938-1957)

This generation broke the mold. Women went into the corporate workforce. Men became secretaries and nurses.

Pluto in Virgo “Collective Souls” (1956-1972)

This generation saturated the zeitgeist with exercise and health regimens and new science and technology. This generation of highly-analytical individuals Virgo-inspired incarnated in this lifetime to master lessons around humility, service, duty, criticism, analysis, and improvement, and being of service to mankind.

Pluto in Libra “Generation X” (1971-1983)

Ruled by Venus, made this a period of rebirth for feminism, equality, relationships, marriage, and the judicial system. If you are a Pluto in Libra individual, you were incarnated in this lifetime to learn lessons surrounding balance, justice, and the true meaning of “me vs. we.”

Pluto in Scorpio “The Millennials” (1983-1995)

The Pluto in Scorpio generation grew up on movies like The Lion King, where protagonists pierce through the darkness, transmuting their pain into power amidst one of the most tragic phenomenons (HIV/AIDS) of the 20th century. The signature of death, power, occultism, mysticism, and sex became rooted in the collective psyche.

Pluto in Sagittarius “Generation Z” (1996-2009)

Fueled by larger-than-life Jupiter, this mutable fire sign’s idealism and lust for life becomes excessive and magnified under the influence of Pluto. The quest for the “bigger picture” became endless inquiries via the Internet, leading to a dependency and compulsive use of online services, the WWW, and the beginning of the Dark Web. The Columbine High School massacre, the Clinton-Lewinsky sex scandal & President’s impeachment proceedings, the death of Lady Diana, and the September 11 attacks were the backdrop to this generation coming of age.

Pluto in Capricorn (1995-2023)

The generation that just came onto the planet is gifted with psychism and intuition; indigo children. This generation will be tasked with building the New Earth promised by Eckhart Tolle.

Past Pluto Aquarius transits:

Religious Upheaval

Historical data from past

  • Martin Luther started what became the Protestant Reformation

OUTER PLANET CYCLES

Over the next 20 years, there will be seven outer planet conjunctions. There is much material that can be discussed about these events, so rather than try to squeeze it into this forecast, I am sharing the work of five other talented astrologers.

  • Jupiter Uranus (2024, 2037-2038)

“Lightening in a Bottle”

  • Saturn Neptune (2026)

Ray Merriman-ISAR 2016

  • Saturn Uranus (2032)

  • Jupiter Neptune (2035)

“The Jupiter-Neptune Conjunction and Your Spiritual Self-Confidence-Steven Forrest”

  • Jupiter Saturn (2040)

“Jupiter Saturn Astrology”—Greg Bogart

  • Neptune Eris (2037-2038)

This event only happens every 500 years, and it will occur during the current transit of Pluto in Aquarius. There will be three Neptune Eris conjunctions near the end of this transit.

In the last 1000 years, there have been only four conjunctions of Neptune and Eris.  None of them have occurred in the sign of Aquarius. The previous conjunctions all marked turning points in world history. Boundaries shifted and were reinforced.

  • The Battle of Hastings and the Norman conquest of England.~William the Conquerer became the King of England, establishing Norman rule for the next 300 years. For that entire time, French was the spoken language of England.
  • Work began on the Great Wall of China and the wall around the Kremlin.
  • The Hundred Years’ War raged in Europe between England and France.
  • John Dee emerged as an English mathematician, astronomer, astrologer, teacher, occultist, and alchemist. He was the court astronomer for, and advisor to, Elizabeth I, and spent much of his time on alchemy, divination, and Hermetic philosophy.
  • The Council of Trent led to the End of the Protestant Reformation.
  • The Revolutions of 1848 were a series of political upheavals throughout Europe starting in 1848 and the most widespread revolutionary wave in European history to date but within a year, reactionary forces had regained control, and the revolutions collapsed.
  • The Liberty Bell is cracked while being rung for George Washington’s birthday.
  • Abolitionist Frederick Douglass wrote Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave
  • The first major wagon train headed for the American Northwest sets out with one thousand pioneers on the Oregon Trail.
  • Manifest destiny: U.S. President James K. Polk announced to Congress that the Monroe Doctrine, a United States foreign policy position that opposed European colonialism in the Western Hemisphere, held that any intervention in the political affairs of the Americas by foreign powers was a potentially hostile act against the United States should be strictly enforced and that the United States should aggressively expand into the West.
  • Brigham Young leads 148 Mormon pioneers into Salt Lake Valley, resulting in the establishment of Salt Lake City.
  • The California Gold Rush

Events that occurred when Pluto was in Aquarius

  • American Revolution
  • US Constitution was drafted and ratified.
  • Benedict Arnold commits treason by attempting to hand over West Point to the British.
  • A U.S. Senator becomes the first federal legislator to be expelled from office during an investigation against him on charges of criminal conspiracy.
  • The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes in Great Britain, continental Europe, and the United States that occurred during the period from around 1760 to about 1820–1840. This transition included going from hand production methods to machines.

What are the implications of this transit in the past?

  • Geographic boundaries were redrawn.
  • Religions are splintering.
  • Global awareness increased.
  • The world expanded through exploration.

Some predictions for the transit of Pluto through Aquarius:

  • Technology will make even greater leaps forward, harnessing power from sources that have only been hinted at by Nicola Tesla.
  • Splinter groups will unite over a common cause and become powerful political movements.
  • Existing social and political aggregates will subdivide and reorganize in new ways, politically, geographically, and spiritually.
  • Human consciousness will expand, making great leaps forward in collective awareness.
  • Social and economic disruption.
  • Potentials for global conflagration.
  • These changes will be driven by trauma and profound emotional experiences.

It is too early in the game to begin to fathom the development that will occur 20 years from now, but we know that Neptune correlates to the collective unconscious. It is the planet of intuition, psychism, and the four “Clair” skills:

  • Clairaudience (hearing voices)
  • Clairvoyance (seeing images)
  • Clairsentience (recognizing feelings)
  • Claircognizance (knowing)

Joseph Selbie and David Steinmetz suggest in The Yuga’s: Keys to Understanding Our Hidden Past, Emerging Energy Age, and Enlightened Future that in the last Satya Yuga, or Golden Age, telepathy and telekinesis were human abilities that have been lost over time. Over time, writing developed as a result.

The combined frequencies of Uranus and Neptune will open doorways of awareness that will propel human evolution forward in ways that might seem hard to imagine today. The psychedelic revolution of the 1960s has gone mainstream in the 2020s. When Neptune, Eris, and Pluto in Aquarius commingle their energies, it could take this branch of neuroscience to a whole new level and expand the boundaries of human consciousness to limits of what we might now only imagine.

Saturn in Pisces: What We Can See From Here (transcript)

Welcome to the Astrological Weather Report.

My name is Daniel Fiverson.

I want to thank you all for taking the time to listen to my astrological weather reports. I also want to thank Sue and Robin, who have carried on the work of Linda Jonson so diligently and made these recordings available.

Saturn has been churning the winds of change in Aquarius since the end of 2020. Since then, the worldwide spread of COVID-19 and its self-mutating variants have shattered our sense of normalcy. In the United States, the Capitol Riot and exposure of malfeasance at the highest level of government has politically splintered the nation. Europe has been drawn to the precipice of nuclear confrontation in Ukraine. In Asia, an active Chinese agenda is attempting to reset the balance of power in the region. In the last three years, we have witnessed a much different world emerges.

On March 7, 2023, Saturn, the god of time, authority, generation, agriculture, aging, and mastery, will enter the fluid, effusive, boundary-less domain of Pisces. What omens will we encounter hidden in such a boundless watery abyss?

Saturn repeats a transit through each sign approximately every 29 years.

  • In 1759 the British and French fought for control of the New World. The event polarized the politics of the American colonies and presaged the American Revolution.
  • In 1789 George Washington became the 1st President of the United States. The social experiment, which we call democracy, was born as the first modern nation to attempt government by the governed.
  • In France, the Declaration of Human Rights sparked the French Revolution, overthrowing the monarchy and establishing the first republic in Europe since the Classical Age.
  • In 1818 author Mary Shelly, a woman writing under her own name, penned Frankenstein, a book destined to become a literary classic.
  • The Mexican-American War erupted in 1846, doubling the size of the fledging American republic. The discovery of gold in California actualized the American ideology of Manifest Destiny and started what would become a national migratory nature.
  • The Seneca Falls Convention marked the beginning of the Women’s rights movement in the United States.
  • In Eastern Europe, the Communist Manifesto laid the groundwork for the Russian Revolution, which would begin two Saturn Pisces transits later in 1905.
  • In 1876, the Indian Wars that led to the genocide and forced removal of the native American population were sparked by the Battle of the Little Big Horn.
  • In 1964 the Beatles stepped off a plane in New York and sent an entire generation on a journey of Eastern mysticism, peace, and universal love.
  • In 1993, the tunnel under the English Chanel, now called the Chunnel, changed the demographics of Western Europe.
  • Here we are 29 years later. With one eye on the rearview mirror, we begin to gaze forward to fathom the future.

SATURN

Saturn correlates to the principle of contraction, in contrast to Jupiter’s principle of expansion. Saturn creates crystallized forms that support the foundation of life. In our birth charts, it structures our consciousness, formatting each of the other planets according to its aspect or phase relationship with them.

We tend to think of Saturn as yang, male. In truth, it is the opposite. Capricorn, the sign associated with Saturn, is Yin, energy moving inward towards the center.  It is involution, as the Jewish mystics believed,  Shekinah, the Divine Mother, correlating to the vessel of spirit, the “glory of divine presence.”

Saturn correlates to authority. Capricorn correlates to the 10th House. The tenth house refers to the authority figure, which traditionally is the father. There is no real consensus about that among astrologers, as some confer the mother to that house in a natal chart. I have come to understand that it works either way, describing the authority figure in the household. In many cultures, matriarchy is still the norm. The nature and circumstances of the authority figure in our childhood pattern our sense of who we are and how we will emotionally develop over time.

As the principle of contraction, Saturn presupposes our personal outreach with others and our innate expression of who we are and how we project ourselves in the world. Our collective experience as well, politically and economically, is foreshadowed by Saturn.

Saturn is gravity. It is the force that connects us to the Earth. It is why we feel the “weight” of Saturn.

PISCES

As we enter Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, we complete the circle. It is, however, the Enso, the existentially incomplete circle, never at finality, always an empty space to span and begin anew. In Zen, an ensō which means “circular form,” is a circle that is hand-drawn in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create. The ensō symbolizes absolute enlightenment, strength, elegance, the universe, and mu (the void).

Astrologically, Pisces corresponds to the infinite, that which has no beginning and no end. It is the element of water whose boundaries are fluid, adapting to its environment. Water must fill up each space it passes through before it can move on. The water triad traces the evolution of consciousness from self-awareness in Cancer to subconscious awareness in Scorpio to immersion into the collective consciousness in Pisces.

In human life, Pisces is the mystic and the medium, the martyr. the savior and the saint. It is surrender, fantasy, dreams, and illusion. Pisces is the process of immersion into what is greater than ourselves. The archetype provides experiences that teach us that we are not just a single wave; we an infinitesimal part of a much larger ocean. Pisces teaches us the lessons of ultimate truth as opposed to relative truth and unconditional love as opposed to conditional love.

Many of the aspects we are going to look at today are challenging. I think we all agree that the time we are passing through is probably one of the most challenging periods of our lives. The challenges we face are the stimulus for our personal growth. As we get older, we increasingly appreciate the challenges we had to face as catalysts for change. I believe that it is a blessing to live in interesting times.

Let’s remember that we are looking at Saturn. He teaches us mastery and skills, but only if we do the work. Pisces is a transcendental archetype because there are habits and behavior we must learn to transcend.

That being said, here is my forecast for the transit of Saturn through Pisces.

INGRESS

“In each moment, all of time is revealed”

—Thomas Wolfe, Look Homeward Angel

Saturn will transit Pisces from March 7, 2023, to February 13, 2026. A planetary ingress imprints the template of the entire transit.

  • Saturn ingress Aries on May 24, 2025

Saturn ingress Pisces

  • September 1, 2025 to February 13, 2026.

The outer planets play major roles at many of the significant points of Saturn’s three-year transit; however, only Jupiter and Pluto will perfect to Saturn.

Jupiter will semisquare Saturn:

  • May 21, 2023

Jupiter will square Saturn three times:

  • August 19, 2024
  • December 24, 2024
  • June 15, 2025

Saturn will semisquare Pluto three times:

  • May 6, 2024
  • September 25, 2024
  • January 26, 2025

At the March 7 ingress, Pluto in Capricorn and Jupiter in Aries overshadow the ingress. Capricorn is Saturn’s own sign. Aries forms a natural crisis-producing square to Capricorn.

An encouraging trine from Mars in capricious Gemini hints at impulsiveness and self-perpetuating dialogues. These dynamics suggest a struggle with authority and difficult lessons.

The lunar nodes are activated, encouraging reconciliation between the past and future. Pluto can take us down into our own underworld, the subconscious repository of the personal and collective traumas we have buried there.

How are we exercising our own personal power with others? What boundaries have been crossed that cause our power to be compromised? How has impulsiveness created wounding experiences? Where is the balance between self-interest and common cause?

STATION RETROGRADE

On June 17, 2023, Saturn will station retrograde at 7° Pisces 12’ SR. At the station retrograde, a balsamic “dark of the moon” portends unresolved issues pertaining to the perception of what is truth and what is simply opinion

Jupiter is magnetized to the lunar nodes in Taurus and Scorpio. The future slips in and out of focus, morphing, expanding, and contracting. Old resentments can resurface with fierce intensity.

Venus in Leo, ruler of the lunar north node, challenges Saturn revealing the blind spots in our self-development.

Eris in Aries struggles with Saturn to be less diffuse and to become more self-aware.

Do our words and deeds resonate with each other? Personal authenticity runs the gamut from patient and kind to uncontrolled belligerence, verbal and otherwise.

STATION DIRECT

on November 4, 2023, a finger of God points at Saturn’s station direct at 0° Pisces 02’ from a Cancer Moon and Venus in Virgo. Emotions run high. Crises erupt. Discernment is necessary to avoid power struggles and conflict. Personalities threaten to become negatively ego-driven.

As Mercury in Scorpio opposes Uranus in Taurus retrograde in crisis mode to Saturn, harsh words can fly through the airwaves like poison arrows.

Saturn continues to struggle with Pluto. Authority is questioned. Wounding experiences erupt.

Saturn semisquare Pluto

struggle over who is in authority.

On May 6, 2024, Saturn is again challenged by Pluto in Aquarius.  Boundaries are shattered as ideologies hunker down to effectuate change. A clash of personalities causes progressivism and regression to collide, defying attempts at compromise. Dialogues are filled with wounded words and feelings. Compromise dissolves.

Neptunian dissolution reaches its peak at the 29° anaretic degree of Pisces. Interpersonal struggles expose intense, intractable personal biases.

The past comes back to haunt us in some way as the Lunar South Node in Libra, stationed retrograde, challenges Saturn’s authority.

STATION RETROGRADE (2)

One week later, on June 29, 2024, Saturn will make its second station retrograde at 19° Pisces 25’. An Aries Moon struggles to understand resentful Eris’s scheming behavior. Venus revisits personal and collective values and priorities. Discussions become sincere and heartfelt.

JUPITER SQUARE SATURN (1)

On August 19, 2024, Jupiter, in close company with Mars in Gemini, perfects to a “crisis in consciousness” square to Saturn retrograde. An ideological clash occurs as dreams collide with reality. The distance between collective priorities and personal values is exposed. Pluto continues to add his weight to the conflict.

STATION DIRECT (2)

Saturn stations direct on November 15, 2024, at 12° Pisces 41’. We can feel caught in a vortex between opposing political and social cosmologies. Pluto again throws his authoritative weight into the ongoing crises, occupying the final cathartic degree of Capricorn.

The projection of personality is up close and personal. The Moon, agitated by Uranus in reclusive Taurus, intensifies the need for emotional security. Jupiter’s retrograde in Gemini adds verbal fuel to the fire.

JUPITER SQUARE SATURN (2)

On December 24, 2024, Jupiter retrograde squares Saturn again. Mars, retrograde in Leo, gets vertical with attitude and self-importance. A Libra Moon is emotionally out of balance. Mercury adds grandiose verbosity. Pluto is still trying upset the apple cart and call the shots.

Saturn semisquares Pluto

On January 26, 2025, Saturn semisquares Pluto a second time. The struggle over who is in authority continues. Jupiter retrograde separates from the conflict, but difficult events continue to unfold. Mars retrograde in Cancer begins to reconsider previous behavior.

LUNAR NORTH NODE CONJUNCT SATURN

On April 21, 2025, Saturn joins up with the Lunar North Node in Pisces. Both are in close proximity to the Neptune in Aries, the ruler of the Lunar North Node. Venus is in close company as well as is Mercury conjunct Neptune in Aries. This 5-planet stellium is a celestial counterweight, locomotive energy driving the moment.  An aura of fate and destiny hangs in the air. Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, and Eris are all in play. A fierce, impulsive, vocalized, hunkered-down frequency pervades the zeitgeist. A battle for the future rages.

SATURN INGRESS ARIES

On May 24, 2025, Saturn moves in Aries. The Pisces influence continues as Saturn meets up with Neptune, beginning to warm up to Mars and his martial energies. The Lord of Time is still reeling from his recent meetup with the Lunar North Node in Pisces. Jupiter is still throwing his weight around with Saturn.  Mars has not lost his bluster midway through Leo. Mercury is in close company with Uranus in Taurus, the mouthpiece for finally laying the groundwork to establish what is essential for personal, collective, and planetary survival.

JUPITER SQUARE SATURN (3)

On June 15, 2025, Jupiter makes its third square to Saturn. Saturn is up close and personal with Neptune in Aries. Pluto remains an active player pressuring Saturn and Neptune. Mars, at the anaretic, last degree of Leo, stresses Saturn, resulting in an overload of ego and self-interest.

SATURN STATION RETROGRADE (3)

On July 13, 2025, Saturn makes its last retrograde station of the transit at 1° Aries 56’. A review of all of the previous issues and events of the entire transit is on the table. An Aquarius Moon shakes things up as well.

SATURN INGRESS PISCES (2)

On September 1, 2025, Saturn will re-enter Pisces. The pressures from Pluto and Eris are receding and have begun to open opportunities for the crises to be healed. Venus and Mercury in Leo open the way for priorities to be voiced. A Sagittarius Moon brings higher wisdom to the discussion.

SATURN STATION DIRECT (3)

On November 27, 2025, Saturn stations direct at 25° Pisces 09’. Neptune retrograde is in close company. A facilitating water grand trine from Mercury-Venus and Jupiter retrograde opens the door for emotional healing through discussion, inner work, actualizing personal values, and having compassion for self and others. Eris retrograde shakes what has become stuck. Mars offers higher choices.

ODILON REDON “AGED ANGEL”

The takeaway is to surrender. Saturn, Pluto, and Jupiter will have their way. We cannot win with force. Only the exercise of personal power will succeed. Let go of expectations even as you continue to dream the future. Man plans, and God laughs. Stay the course.  When you feel oppressed by the way things are going, ask your angels and guides for help. They are waiting for your call.
